What's poppin' everyone, welcome back to the blog!

Boy oh boy has it been another week come and gone, and quickly at that. I spent more time on my account this week and made a bunch of tweets that I lost count by the time of writing this article! But I made one of my favorite discoveries, and perhaps a possible research topic, this week!

Sloths, if you didn't know, are my favorite animals. As such, I dedicated this week to seeing if there was any person or organization I could find that specifically helped out my slow adorable friends. That was when I stumbled upon the Sloth Conservation Foundation (SCF). Now, when I say that I was immediately overwhelmed by the dozens of furry sloths, I exaggerate very little (I needed a small break since I was getting off track).

I expressed my joy in Twitter, immediately sharing a clip of a person feeding a baby sloth. I encouraged others to tag their favorite animals and share a photo, clip, or fact about it, but sadly no one responded :(. I didn't let that discourage me though! Very quickly I continued to tweet excitedly about the projects the SCF was pursuing. My favorite one, and the one that interested me the most, was a project that involved building bridges across roads so sloths and other animals that traverse through the trees can get across safely. I had never thought human and animals like sloths could share a habitat, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Sloth Crossing Canopy Bridges are not their only projects, though you can find many more on their website that I linked up above!

Apart from that big discovery, I read a lot about this chihuahua that had gone viral practically overnight. His name is Prancer and he was trending after his owner had wrote an amazing adoption description for the little guy. I retweeted and shared the post in hopes to help spread word of him since I for one adore chihuahuas dearly. I do hope if someone adopts him they will make a social media account for him, or at least post more pictures!

Now onto the blogs I cast judgement upon...

The three lucky people I visited (and shall proceed to shoutout in the following paragraph) are as follows:

I was able to relate with Joanna in her new found distaste in SeaWorld after researching more into the company's history of abuse with the animals. I also mentioned to Antonia that as a dog owner myself, I am not surprised at all at the claims of dogs being able to experience jealousy, anger, sadness, joy, and any other emotion that is considered to be "human". Lastly, I recounted how different animals can express themselves in unique ways to Justin so long as you know the signs to look for.

I learned a lot over the course of the week, and I can't wait to learn more as time goes on!

Signing off for now...

Emi out :D

Hey Emily, I like how your research animal is unique. But what is your topic going to focus on intelligence, social behavior, or communication?

Hi Emily, I did not see you on Twitter encouraging classmates to tag their favorite animals and share a photo, clip, or fact about it. I think this is a good suggestion. You said you love sloths, would you set your research direction on sloths? What research question will you work on about sloths?

Hey Emily, I'm glad to see that you were enjoying and learning at the same time when engaging in different activities assigned by the class. And nice research animal! Sloths are cute! I also feel sorry when you said you did not get response on Twitter for one of your post, but it's probably because there are just so many posts and people easily miss some of those... I encourage you to keep posting related tweets, I already enjoyed your writing through your blog!! And I was wondering what are some possible research topics that you are going to choose from with the animal sloths, I am curious to know more!
